The same thing happened to me recently. I didn’t get the job.
Can I DM you about your experience?
Just curious but what’s your service line?
A lot of prominent, "respected" firms do this and it really grinds my gears. I'd chalk it up as the first warning sign of a bad culture to come. The right place will value you and hire you for your skillset.
Sorry to hear. That’s unprofessional. Sounds like a place you don’t want to work anyway.
This happened to me at a law firm I was interviewing with. Three rounds of interviews spanning three days and then ghosted, recruiter wouldn’t even respond when I asked her what was going on.
Still haven’t heard back, 200% sure I didn’t get the job. As others noted, the point is the lack of courtesy and respect that has become all too common when searching for a career change. I’m appreciative that reaching out to candidates who the company won’t move forward with is an uncomfortable situation and that there are legal considerations when discussing why a candidate was rejected. I’m simply asking for the HR contact to send an automated email - “thank you for your interest in XX, this position isn’t a fit at this time but we’ll keep your resume on file etc etc. “
Update: I received the job offer, however I have rejected in favor of a similar opportunity at a different bank, where I was treated well in the interview process. I appreciate everyone’s perspective and wish you all the best.
