I just had two interviews for a job at Raytheon. The recruiter asked my salary expectation and I gave it. He then a said my expectations were too high. The weird part was that he straight up told me he was going to look up my salary (I’m an internal candidate) to give a a number that “actually makes sense”. Can he base my offer on my current pay for a completely different job? Seems sketchy. The job requires 8+ years experience and it supports all of the Americas … I asked for 75-85k

I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?

However, even after completion of address verification, I received a mail stating that my address verification was not successful and I was asked to share my permanent address.
