Dude. Regardless, get that shit expunged.
Talk to a lawyer, don't take a poll.
What happened as a result of refusing the breathalyzer?
Not sure how long, but Canada doesn't fuck around with DUIs. Buddy of mine was denied entry when traveling to conference last year for a DUI from 3 or so years earlier.
10 years from the end of any sentences (i.e. all fines paid, license suspension period, jail time, education, community service hours all completed, NOT the date of arrest or sentencing) is the minimum length of time before you are eligible to petition for "rehabilitation" in Canada. You should contact the legal group your company uses to handle Canada work permits though, as you'll probably still need additional paperwork and you'll have to apply at the border and that will take a decent chunk of time. If 10 years hasn't passed, you have to apply for the Temporary Resident Permit instead, which is going to be a coin flip (+ project $$$) even with legal assistance. Regardless, this is definitely the kind of issue you should bring up with the project manager when discussing potential staffing concerns, don't let this end up as a surprise for the rest of your team.
Talk to the firm cross border legal. Getting barred at customs is much worse than admitting to having once made a mistake as a teen
@SM1: good point, I forgot to mention -- if you go and end up getting denied, that makes it much more difficult to get admitted in subsequent visits. So, @OP: overprepare and have a backup plan for when things go south (e.g. I think you can set aside a separate occasion to fly there and have a connecting flight back the same day so you don't have to get an official "denial" if they won't let you through).
Most of the time, projects will just pass on you rather than go through the expense and uncertainty unless you're essential to the project.
Statute of limitations is 7 years. You ll be fine OP
There was a conviction. I talked to a lawyer and I could have it expunged from my record at this point, but I would not have time before the engagement began

I don't see why not as long as you can drive
You will be just fine. They won't care what happen 10 years ago. And if there was no conviction then nothing is on your record.
Was that a conviction?
RBC = red blood cells? That's your client?
Check the expungement statutes in your location. Many states will not allow expungements on alcohol related originated offenses, even if later reduced (i.e., reckless driving). Sealing your record is then usually your next best option, in those jurisdictions. Sucks, because this likely applies where say you're pulled over on suspicion of DUI, but give no evidence.
