I requested tuition reimbursement at my firm for a master's class ($1,200) and was approved. Do you have to pay this back when you leave? It's the first time I've requested reimbursement.

For PwC, you have to pay 50% back if you leave 1-2 years from the date you were reimbursed. It's 100% if you leave less than 1 year after though. Of course after 2 years you are in the clear. Kind of a silly policy tbh. Doubt they go after this much beyond deducting from your vacation balance when you leave though (they are required to pay that out). Haven't heard of anyone getting shook down for this after leaving.

like

Can you do that!

See firm policy. If there is a payback clause I'm sure it depends on how soon you leave.

Hello HR folks. Overheard a conversation at work and am curious what is the norm.
If an employee goes out on FMLA, obviously the benefits person sends them the STD, FMLA paperwork etc. But is it the maagers responsibility to maintain communication with the person out on leave and to get a timeline on their return or would that be the benefits team? Or maybe the HRBP?

After 3 years of dealing with the worst firm I've ever had the displeasure of working for, I finally landed my dream gig at a small specialty firm. The people at the new firm are all SMEs featured in and contributors to the most notable business publications in the world, less than 100 employees, better benefits, unlimimted PTO, doubled my pay and landed a senior role.

Keep looking for what you want and deserve. I'm happy to be forging a better path away from what I've had to endure.
