I resigned from a toxic job environment!!My supervisor provided “feedback” on my performance with no evidence or actions provided. She judged my form of communication & choice of words. I’m experiencing a whirlwind of emotions. I’m devastated, overwhelmed and yet happy to leave. Now I’m searching for a job. I have an MBA with 7+ years of strategic program/project management & I’m lean six sigma green belt certified. In need of advice in my search below. 💫
You absolutely did the right thing for you! Your best job yet is right around the corner!
Bowl Leader
Congratulations!
As POC and especially WOC we have to think about Code Switching, I do not personally exercise but I am keenly aware of it so I do understand the struggle. Rather than code-switching to survive and persevere, I keep a sticky note taped to one of my monitors to remind myself to "Stay on Brand". That by far was the most helpful feedback a manager offered me. "She loved and admired my courage but she was concerned about my brand within the organization amongst the leaders."
You are your brand and only you can represent and advocate yourself. Manage your brand.
Program | Project Managers are not always the most liked...however you do need that likability and definitely command respect. It is critical to make those tweaks so that individuals will drive towards quality execution and be accountable.
