Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all: 1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features? 2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

Partners. Were there stages in your career (Analyst, Consultant, Manager, etc) where you felt things weren’t clicking and that maybe consulting wasn’t for you? What did you do to get over the hump and still find a way to Partner? To be specific, I’m currently a C looking to make manager in a year, and there are manager level responsibilities that I’m struggling to execute proficiently (e.g., asking the right questions to the client, driving work with little guidance, etc)

I have a family visit coming up next week that is looking likely to conflict with a major client deadline. I’ve canceled my fair share of vacations for this job, but after a year+ of pandemic isolation, loss and nonstop work, this one is a big deal — I need to be present for my family for just these couple of days. Any ideas for how to frame this to the client? In house lawyers, is there an acceptable way your outside counsel could handle this situation? I am feeling so sad and stressed.

Please help - I need opinions on men’s clothing! What are people’s perceptions of black suits vs. blue/gray? About to refresh my wardrobe now that I’ve made associate. I work in a conservative industry, so leaning on adding some black suits, especially now that I’m a but more senior and going to see more client action. I like my blues and grays, but if I wear those exclusively do I come off as less serious? Any and all view points are welcome, truly just testing the water. Ty!

My client hasn’t paid their invoices since the project started 8 weeks ago and now my boss is really concerned. What am I missing? What’s the big issue? Is it not just a standard legal process to remedy payment by now? Is he more concerned with the extra work? Reputation issues? “Free work” financials? I’m fairly new to the industry and haven’t been exposed to that side of the business yet

Should I put off having a baby until 2022? My S/O and I have always talked about having a big family. I want to start on my mid 20s and hopefully finish having kids by my mid 30s (I want 3-4 kids). Should I wait until after COVID to start having kids? Life is unpredictable so who’s to say that after one pandemic there won’t be another. I’m hesitant to wait but scared now to start trying for a baby.
