I run a temp agency but I'm consistently being mistreated and only gross under 68k. My current duties are: Contracting, Invoicing, Bills & Payments, (some) Tax prep, HR, Employer Relations, Managing Vehicles, Insurances, Business registrations, Correcting payroll, Legal, Onboarding paperwork, Finances, etc.
I know I'm not valued or protected there, but without a degree I don't know what I can do. Any thoughts?

You do a lot for 65k a year. Be stregtric and start planning your exit. Have a conversation with the Owner and give a short chance to correct. Have solutions to your issues and know your worth. Ask for a raise among your solution.

I'll start working on this. Thanks!!

Degrees aren't the end-all be-all to getting work anymore. Hire a resume writer to accurately capture everything you do at this job and your other accomplishments, and start looking for a place that will value you and pay you better. If the lack of degree comes up repeatedly or you're too scared to try without it, there are plenty of online degree programs these days. Get in one.

Yes! Thank you!

Look into moving from running a temp agency to similar role somewhere as an in-house talent recruiter or external tech specialty recruiting. Lots of these can be remote based and you probably don’t need a degree if you already have so much transferable experience, which it sounds like you do. Good luck 👍.

Thanks so much! I haven't thought about looking into those fields but I will!

I would start looking to see what else is out there. That is def a very low salary for all that you are doing.

Hello! Does anyone know what the current salary range is for a Senior Director of Fund Accounting at Juniper Square? I was asked during a phone screen and gave a number but was then told that they don't have a Canadian comp. structure yet. Just trying to figure out what expectations should be.

Just recently given an offer within my own department, new role created just for me , base salary is def an improvement from my old salary. I decided to negotiate other stuff. But now I feel bad. Why is it as a women, and never being given the chance to negotiate before, I feel bad now asking for what I think I’m worth. I’ve been loyal to my company for over 15 years and gotten the shaft, and now that this has come up and seems like a good offer, I feel like I owe it to my self to negotiate.

Mentioned to my boss this week that I had reached burnout & that I was beginning to consider my options. I have received offers recently 50K above what I make now & communicated that. On Friday they said their boss would be touching base with me next week. I am in above average standing with the company & received a good annual raise earlier this year. The issue is I took the job below my market value to get out of a much worse job 2 years ago. Realistic outcomes for my upcoming meeting?

How do I ask for a raise or promotion? I came on to a newly developed HR team. Took on more responsibilities than originally described (which is great, I’m learning and growing) and I’ve been an essential contributor to improving our department and processes and exceed expectations.
