Hold them accountable for the class rules you set.

You are trying to build a sense of community, mutual accountability, and productive academic time, right? Ask students to help build it - they can help set the rules, and then they are invested in the program, they have agency. Find a way to figure out what they need this program to be for them - it will be a study hall if you don't build it around what is needed.

So, apparently my school has the lowest teacher attendance this year. As teachers- what would be a good incentive to get perfect attendance and not use your PTO?

I am leaving the classroom. I don't want to manage so many humans at one time, anymore. I'm considering working remote to be able to travel more easily and figure out where I want to live and what I want. Is there anyone who has left the classroom or the education field? What jobs were you able to transition into?

“If you’re not sweating by first hour, you’re not teaching”, “Don’t let me walk in the room and see you a$$ sitting down”, “ You should leave everyday exhausted” just a few quotes from our new academic supervisor. I find these extremely offensive, but since this is a supervisor any advice on how to handle this situation?

Looking for anyone in the same situation. Self contained classroom (gr. 3,4,5) of 11 students. 2 of the students are on grade level academics but are in my class because of severe behaviors. The 9 other students have be unable to have individual help with academics because these two students take all my time with their behaviors. I have some support but it just happens day after day. Any behavior mgmt ideas that I may have been missing?

Many teachers have said that they are burned-out. Can you please be specific about what is burning you out? For me, it’s students who are constantly unwilling to do any work.
