In the recruiter interview I wasn’t asked where I live. The job is with a huge sports wear company in Los Ángeles and I live in Miami. Does not living in the same city not make the hiring manger want to hire you even though I would move to the jobs location ASAP? And if they ask where I live do I say I live in their city? Even though I don’t and it’s a contract position.

I trained on .net and then after I supported .net application. After 3 years I got to work on ssrs reports. We build reports from scratch in ssrs, then I worked on qlik view application. Attended training on qlik sense. My question is for which openings/certificate I have to look .net (I have only support knowledge) or reporting tools like ssrs, qlik view ? I am exploring new roles and when I tell new co abt my expected salary (as per current market standards) they find excuses to not consider the bump and say “ Oh we can give from your current sal “ any tips on how to negotiate and match my pay (as per industry standards) as I don’t want to be underpaid..

As a Digital Strategy Consultant that had a major in computer science, I am considering exiting into a software engineer role. My main concern is that I have been doing power-points and excel and not coding. What can I do to position myself best for this? I have been seeing a lot of McKinsey Implementation job postings on L.I. for supply chain and/or procurement consultant roles. I know they require 3+ yoe in posting, at 2 yoe right now and wondering if McKinsey does in fact have a potentially aggressively growing Workday team or if these postings are for generalists etc. any idea of salary ranges for roles more so in implementation at McK for Chicagoland area?

How does leaving for a competitor at the M level work? Do you disclose to the Firm? Do they ask as part of your resignation? Being recruited by one but wondering will it just be a problem.
