I saw this and got very disappointed. It's going to be very hard for Brian Flores to win this suit, but you can't deny that there is racial discrimination in the NFL. I am dismayed that a Black attorney of such stature would represent the NFL in this matter.

I am a black attorney that does L&E, management side and honestly I wish there were MORE of us who did it. I am a progressive person and for the cases that have merit (because naturally, not all do) I am able to explain to my clients why we need to settle and why they need to change their practices and policies to create a better workplace. I honestly believe I am able to move the needle towards a more equitable world more effectively than plaintiff L&E attorneys. Admittedly, the world isn’t going to be better tomorrow.
It’s going to be hard for Flores to win his lawsuit because his complaint is poorly drafted and realistically it’s going to settle.
Why be dismayed? Loretta Lynch is an equity partner at Paul Weiss. Part of her responsibility is to drum up business with clients that have deep pockets. She is simply doing her job.
This does not mean that what Flores is alleging did not occur. If anything, most cases like this end up settling.
Ahh my alma mater strikes again lol...
