I see a lot talk on MBA Reddit about NYC MBB offices as the most difficult offices to land. Is there actually a higher level of difficulty to land NYC? Or is it a bunch of unknowledgeable people spreading bs?

What are some remote jobs or jobs with high travel and flexibility that I can pursue? I loved all the traveling I did in consulting but don't want to suffer looong hours anymore. Interested in doing some version of "remote year" but don't want to sacrifice career trajectory. Graduating from MBA next year and want to focus my recruiting.
