I see and hear a lot of people talk about leaving audit for positions in talent/ recruiting. Is the pay comparable?

If you're good at it, then yes I think taking 10-20% salary fees can make a decent living. For example my recruiter is getting $10-15k from my new company on me alone, for a month of part-time work. Not too shabby.

Yea but go agency. Corporate recruiting is career suicide -- coming from someone who's whole family is in recruiting

I suppose it is but I've yet to come across a remotely competent recruiter. They always seem to be oily salesman doing whatever needs to be done or heard to make the sale (think of Trump). In other words you'll have to be really, really good at your sales pitches.

There's a lot of competition in recruiting. And it seems stressful and shittier than public anyways.

Hello, I am in the hunt for a new path in HR/Recruiting. I’ve been searching daily, unfortunately, no luck in catching one. I have 3 years of HR/Recruiting experience and would love to stay within the field. I am looking for HR Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, HR Administrator, or any other HR related paths. If anyone know of a lead or have any advice for me that would be wonderful! Thank you!

Hi tax 🐠,

I have a question for those who prep individual tax returns. My parents claim my grandfather as a dependent on their tax return and due to their low income, receive PTC for the premiums they pay on his insurance (not eligible for medicare). However, would it be advantageous to have him file for his own tax return (he stays with my parents and doesn't have his own proof of residency via bills). If so, can he get PTC if his income is 0?

I started at a new firm this year in January. I had a billable goal that was given to me mid year of around 1750 house for the year. I am nowhere near that and definitely will not meet the goal. I had so many non billable hours I was forced to take when I first came in. I worked my ass off in busy season. At my previous firm I never fell short of hours as it was B4. This firm is mid sized and more focused on WLB. My question is how bad do you think this will affect my comp??
