Quick Q for y’all. Im having trouble finding cases that match the level of difficulty that I experienced in my BCG interview. Anyone know of a good repository for MBB level cases ?
How's MBB in Malaysia?
Exhausted from the hours I am putting in in IB. Just pulled an all-nighter through Sunday night. Seriously contemplating moving to MBB. Question: How are the Associates and Consultants at MBB doing? What's your hours like? @McKinsey, @BCG, @Bain
Is it pretty usual to go from big 4 M to MBB? Or do they not consider Big 4 Consulting as valuable experience?
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
60M people need to be vaccinated. Offering them $1000 each would cost this country $60B. Realistically, you can get to half of that population — $30B. One booster shot for 250M people at 80% uptake — $200B. For $30B - $230B, we can end the pandemic in the USA. Worth it? Edited: add in $5M for an MBB to do this math and put it in a PPT for you. And $50M for a big 4 firm to implement, botch, reimplement.
Its MBB work really that different from the rest of the consultancies? Outside of the branding and the pay that is?
What credentials do you need to get into MBB. I have a 4 yr B.E undergrad and an MIS grad degree. Worked for an IT services firm for 2.5 years, Deloitte for a year and now KPMG. Any tips?
Fellow 🐠 in MBB - there is a belief in a few consultants that being a part of MBB is the main goal at any cost. Being on the inside and having seen, through this application or your networks, what other firms do, do you think this belief is healthy? Would you consider your work to be just as enjoyable at another firm? If not, where do you think other firms fall shy of the MBB.
Do you think it’s better to go to immediately go a firm that’s beyond your skillset or work your way up to that firm? For example, going to a T2 firm as an experienced hire having never done consulting without or starting at a smaller consulting firm and then going to T2/MBB?
Okay… all kidding aside, is there anything positive about KPMG? The internet and social media makes fun of them. My leadership makes fun of them. Other big 4 friends make fun of them. MBB makes fun of them. Do they do that bad of a job + have that many shady things going on?
For those who have been forced out of MBB, I’m just curious — did you end up having to take a pay cut when exiting, or did you get something that paid even more?
How do I get MBB good @ PPT? I’m a staff 2 in consulting & have only had long term projects; teams rarely used decks. I know ppt well, so the Q is more directed towards designing pretty slides.
MBB folks, have you encountered / worked with consulting teams from other firms before? If so, how has your experience been with some of the other firms? Would also be curious to hear from the other side as well. From my own experience, I can even tell a diff between working with ACN Strat and MC folks.
Is the worst over? How is everyone’s firm doing? MBB, Deloitte, Strategy&, EYP, Accenture, etc
What are some small firms with entrepreneurial gusto giving MBB legit competition? And I don’t mean old school traditional shops charging $1,300 per hour per resource.
Is there a rule that prevents you from applying to other member firms in a different country if you work at a big 4? Especially if you’re moving there anyway?
Any PwC Seattle tax folks here? What is the salary range like for managers and SMS? No advanced degree.
Seeking to transition out of the current industry into cloud computing. Spent the last 2+ years learning and acquiring experience in AWS, CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS Pipeline, GitHub, and Terraform. Honing Bash and Shell scripting. Picked up certifications as a PMP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and AWS Solution Architect Associate along the way. Already have an MBA. What is the best way to break into the cloud and/or DevOps community?
CISSP CPE question: Does anyone know if a Udemy AWS cloud practitioner certification course can be leveraged for Group A CPE credits on ISC2? Udemy provides a certificate with hour totals, but I didn’t know if ISC2 frowns upon these courses.
What’re mbb staffing models like? I heard bain was moving to more regional. This true across the board? Mck and bcg global/national/regional?
Hi! I need your help in raising awareness about all of the recent attacks against the Asian community, especially amongst our elders. An 84 yr old Thai man was pushed and died while walking in his neighborhood. A 91 yr old man was also pushed to the ground in Oakland. A Filipino man was slashed in the face in NY and a Viet grandma was attacked in San Jose. These are only some of the stories, and no one is talking about it. I’m begging you to speak out in your communities to raise awareness.
Currently have 2.5 yoe. Saw a role for ‘strategy analyst’ at my dream firm that says 1-2 years of experience minimum. Would this be a backwards move?
Would you ever ask for a raise in a lockstep firm? I have billed enough hours over target consistently since the start of my career (500-800 hours over every year) that I am well over a year’s worth of target hours ahead. I think there is no chance, but thought I’d ask the question here just in case!
Qn about SPG platinum breakfast amenity - is it valid only once during the stay or for each day? I'm told I can use it only once during the stay 🤷🏻♂️
Every time I see a cute baby at the airport, it makes Monday morning flights a little less painful !
If I directly bring a new project or client into the agency, is it reasonable to ask for % commission of their SOW? Or at least, some sort of bonus?
Just out of curiosity do Deloitte, KPMG & PwC have a CBS equivalent? Basically a group for all the non-Client Service employees. Lower raises and bonuses, less chance for promotion but supposedly people in this group work less hours and have “job security “..(which is mostly BS at EY as I’m now in CBS and often work 60-70 hours per week).
Offered a Solutions Architect role at AWS. Recruiter mentioned it’s at L6 / Solution Architect III . Title in offer letter mentions Solution Architect only. Question - isn’t L6 a Senior Solution Architect title ? Why the level isn’t clear in the offer letter
What salary can I expect at a B4 org at D level + 20 Y with cloud certs and infosec certs (CEH, CISA, CISSP) ? Is $250K out of reach? A lot of co are reaching out to me at $125/hr.
Has anyone here made the transition to consultant to PM? How did you find the transition? Interviewing for a HR Pm role after having done HRIS implementations. Haven’t had any formal PM training but i got to the 3rd round for an interview. They’ll be asking me project mgmt specific questions - what’s the best way to prepare?
Are there any women in this group who are reduced time in a transactional practice at a big law firm? I’d love to hear if you’re glad you made the switch or not, what has worked, what hasn’t. I’m contemplating moving to 80% now, and maybe 60% after I come back from a mat leave for my 2nd kid next year. FWIW, my practice group leader seems very supportive of whatever I choose and I am not up for any promotions for the foreseeable future.
