McKinsey & Company Has Mckinsey met BA headcount quota for the year/did they freeze hiring? I interviewed and got to last round last year, and applied again with a referral two months ago but haven’t heard anything from recruiting. Last year I heard back within 1 month of referral drop. That’s why it’s good to have an informational round with the person who is willing to refer. Not just to answer that question but also to make it more qualitative. In some cases, HR will reach out to get more details about the referral.
Also if you’re a candidate, you get to know more about the firm and possibly build more connections

It’s a weak referral. It’s better than nothing but not by much.

i. Professional - I’ve worked with this person previously
ii. Social - I know this person socially
iii. Educational - I’ve studied with this person
iv. Other - I met this person at a conference
2. If you were to rate your network contacts in terms of how well they qualify for this particular position, where in your opinion would this person fall?
v. Top 10%
vi. Top 50%
vii. Not really sure
