Can you shed some light on MBB recruitment? You got to events, shake some hands and then what? Do you need multiple people to back your candidacy at each firm? Will they invite you to “unofficial” events if they like you? Not really sure how much effort this requires
I’m a 2nd year Consultant currently with a Big 4 firm. I have been working on my masters (MS, non-MBA) part-time and I will complete it May 2021. If I want to apply to MBB after obtaining my MS, do I have a chance applying as an Associate? Or should I apply as an Analyst?
If FAANG PM roles are the new “prestige”, what graduate programs guarantee employment into FAANG at the same rate M7 lines you up for roles at MBB? Coding bootcamps don’t seem to be answer....neither does “Master in X”🧐
Planning to move to a EU country around summer 2021. Anyone who is a non-EU citizen got a consultancy job in EU countries can share your experiences. 1. How long it took to find a job ? 2. In what practice you got offered a job for ? (Such as technology or risk or IT etc) 3. Did you get offered a job by boutique consultancy companies or sticked with Big4 and MBB ? 4. How was the attitude of HR to you considering the fact that you were a non-EU candidate ? 5. What would be your hints to share ?
Just joined T2 firm out of undergrad this past summer. When is the best time to apply if I want to make the jump to MBB? Looking to join asap
Does MBB, Strategy&, LEK, ATK etc allow rotational programs in different countries (London, UK, etc)? How competitive are those rotations to get into?
For those Tier 2 folks that left for MBB, what has been the difference so far? Will you advise others to do it, especially if doing great at T2? If your goal isn't "partner", does this change the DMP?
Tier 2 to MBB - do consultants typically study case or do they already have it all naturally since they have been working in the industry for couple of years?
Leaving MBB after 1 year 5 months. Too short?
Is MBB worth it? I’ve never been in mbb or big 4. Just smaller consulting firms. Have a competing offer between FAANG and MBB. I’m in tech and FAANG is more interesting for my career as well as preferred work culture. However, I’ve seen a lot about MBB here and kind of want to join just so I can say I was in MBB. Is it gonna be killer hours? Promotion politics? Biases on my lack of education? hoping to hear what others have to say
What’s working at MBB like for software engineers? Are they good places to grow technical sophistication? Is it mostly ent service integration? How does it compare w/ working at a large product shop?
Seeking support : Any MBB Partner/MD willing to review profile & potentially refer for lateral level consulting opportunities. YOE : 12+ Have worked with F500 clients & startups.
How does Partnership work? Do you really need to buy into it, if so how much is the buy in and what are the perks of getting admitted to the partnership? Asking for both, Big4 and/or MBB.
FDD manager here making $150K. Do you think MBA is worth it? Potentially would like to make a jump to MBB consulting.
Accenture AI, Big 4, and MBB which one is the best consulting company for Data Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer role? Thanks.
What are the big differences between MBB and Strategy&/Parthenon? I am new to consulting and people are giving me crap for turning down BCG and joining Big 4 strategy.
How good is your firm at helping you to acquire new technical skills and business knowledge? I am at a big four, and there is 0 appropriate technical training. I have to pick up stuff on the go and honestly feel like an amateur, just pulling solutions out of my ass..I hate to look back and realize how I could’ve produced better quality work. Is MBB like that, as well? Also, most managers and higher are so abstracted from tech that I don’t even know a single good expert to ask for advice
Looking for some advice. Do you pursue a project opportunity with uncertain future but in an area that interests you, or stick with a long term project / client pipeline with clear path to promotion?
On ApplicantLab, the coach goes on quite a bit about having a lot of white space on your resume (easy on the eyes), etc etc. This is totally wrong, right? Ive explicitly a Wharton admissions officer say to use margins to your advantage (pack more stuff in) and have seen an application guide at an MBB, where the resume templates include very little white space. Obviously every word should be valuable, but just wanted to check my sanity here since AppLab offers good advice elsewhere.
Good day all! I am seeking successful female attorneys ~ those who've paved their own paths ~ to tell their stories, of what’s possible, to inspire other females ~ those who want to bail on big law, grow their own law practices, focus on a family, or even seek something... well... totally different for her career...for my podcast. The podcast is conversational, not formal interview style. DM if you have a story to tell, or if you know someone who does!
Have 46 nights on Marriott Bonvoy this year - no more work travel so if I want to get to 50 I’d have to stay 4 nights personal - have my plat status renewed for next year so staying the 4 nights would only be for getting the 5 suite night upgrades - never had them before so wondering if they’re worth spending ~$700 in essence just for them? What would u guys do?
Started at a T2 consulting firm not too long ago. Worth switching to MBB to break into PE?
Have around 2YOE in B4 consulting. Debating whether to apply to Bschool next year or recruit for MBB/T2 strategy consulting. What factors should I be considering? Interested in strategy for the skill set to be more marketable for PE or tech companies
Any ideas how EY comp compares to Deloitte?
Do you know any active H1B/L1 holders who were here in the US, recently went on overseas travel, and wasn’t able to come back in because of the visa ban? Will I be able to travel and come back?
Faang PGM role or M at B4 (digital)? Both salaries are around 200k TC. One concern is being pigeonholed by going the Program Management route, not sure which has the better trajectory/ career path.
Recommendations for a standing desk converter? Not a full standing deck because I already have a desk I like. Prefer something that can hold a laptop and two monitor. And any other home office improvement suggestions are welcomed, too!
Hi! For people who have started with EY US recently, how long did it take you from signing the offer, completing background check, to transferring H1B visa? I'm supposed to start in mid-Jan and trying to gauge the timeline so I can put in notice with my current company and plan other stuff. Given that holiday is coming and EY immigration seems pretty slow. TIA!
What’s the going day rate for Feelance Art directors and creative directors in Los Angeles?
Bain CTL salary? Does 200k bass sound right?
I had milestone in 2020 & 2021 C to SC. Both yrs good ratings, 6/6 ONL flags, Coach's F/b in iRPM - 'xyz is working on next level since last 2 yrs'. Strong support frm Project, 2 Awards. Still NO PROMOTION Talent f/b to coach - 'Scatterplot cut off didn't meet, can do better next yr' MD called today - 'You are doing good work, want to reward you 1.5L bonus with 12 month retention policy' I said - 'I am 100% sure I would be returning it if I accept, hence I decline this' Wats his next step?
Spent a year in banking at an EB but had to go back to school because of H1B visa issues. About to start as a BA at McK in the fall. Any thoughts on my ability to recruit for summer 2022 PE Assoc roles? Or do I have to spend minimum 2 years in consulting before making the switch?
If you live with parents, would you max our Roth 401k ($19.5k) and after-tax retirement account ($15k) instead of investing through an individual brokerage? The after-tax $15k can be rolled into the Roth 401k right? Thinking of doing this since I can pull principal out of my Roth 401k after 5 years. Am I missing something here? Any better options?
Anyone here at Holland & Knight? I’m considering a move but have recently read stories about mass exits by Black attorneys - no one has really explained why. I’m a Black female, looking to move for better exit opportunities, firm culture, international and emerging technology work. Any insight including billable requirements will be appreciated. Target location is the Denver office.
Silicon Valley area Sr Consultant role in another tier 1 consultancy, 4 years tech exp out of ug. Base 130 total about 155. Good offer? Have heard Bay Area salaries are usually very high.
SMs who worked in big 4 in risk or reg compliance and left consulting, what were some of the exit options available to you that were not compliance related? Industry agnostic
