But we do? Plenty of entry-level roles out there and yet many of them aren't being filled, let alone the intermediate/senior roles. I know we have personally been struggling filling a recruiter position for months despite an awesome compensation package (I made 90k right out of uni) and NO experience required. GENERALLY SPEAKING pipelining junior candidates straight into senior level roles "to give them a chance" is a disaster recipe waiting to happen when many of them lack the fundamental skills required for productive independent work. It is a disfavor to all parties involved.
Im no saying to give an entry level role a senior position. I am taking about entry level with 0-2 years of experience. There are countless of jobs posted as “entry level” asking for a minimum 2+ years.
Think of it as online dating. If you have nothing to bring to the table, what seperates you from the rest of the pack? Many of the roles that require "no experience" are going to be snapped up in days. You won't find them on Linkedin, it'll be through a friend of a friend. "Entry level" doesn't mean "easy". There is a significant cost & time that needs to be invested in someone with 0 experience, before that person's work is productive enough to benefit the company they work for. Because they have no exp, there's no track record to prove how resilient or loyal they will be. What if they leave right after to join another org? What if they just aren't cut out for the work? Why would you make a high-risk investment for minimal reward when there are lots of options out there?
