I see the recommendation is to not get pregnant until12-18 months after giving birth. Did you all follow that? Did you jump on birth control pills right after giving birth?

I did. There’s something about building up vitamins and other nutrients again in your body (I was quite anemic coming out of the hospital)... but frankly with an infant, I did not feel like I could deal with anything else in my life that first year!

I had a c section and they recommend the wait so that you heal up and can avoid risk of rupture during subsequent labors. I had mine 2 years apart, so waited around 16 months to get pregnant. Chose to not use bc because was breastfeeding, and it can impact production.

I got a Mirena IUD at about 8weeks post-partum. Removed it right before we wanted to conceive again.

I had a paraguard IUD placed 8 weeks after baby #1 because we wanted at least 2 years in between our kids. Took it out about 18 months later and was pregnant within a couple months. Kids are 2.5 years apart. If breastfeeding, you can also go on the mini pill. I have friends, however, that didn’t go on anything and some were pregnant within a year. It was hard on their bodies and harder being pregnant with super little ones, but it worked out fine for them

No. Had 2 c sections too and all was well. It was great to get the pregnancies over with quickly Kids are only 16 months apart. It was busy with 2 under 2 but it’s great now that they are older, and they are very close.

After years of infertility trying for the first, I couldn't bring myself to actually take birth control and ended up pregnant 9 months later. We were thrilled and have no regrets, but the second pregnancy was definitely harder. I don't know if it'd be true for everyone but all my symptoms were amplified with the second and I really could feel the effects of not having gotten back in shape before getting pregnant again. Closely spaced pregnancies are higher risk for preterm labor, but that thankfully wasn't an issue for me.

Hmmm oops. My doctor said to wait at least six months and to no longer be breastfeeding, but that 12-18 months was not necessary. We used condoms but when I got my period back recently we just went for it and apparently now number two is on the way (still really early though)

Why did your doctor tell you to wait until done breastfeeding? I was still doing so when I got pregnant and I know some folks who are tandem nursing.

My doc said the miscarriage rate is higher because “the body can only support so many other beings at one time.” I hear ya, I know people who’ve done it too!

Bgc2, I am surprised they said that...I would ask them for data on that, but i am 'that patient'😑

Needed some opinions. I’m currently pregnant and have had a lot of issues with symptoms like fatigue, headaches.. so not sure how I’ll be able to handle the coming busy season physically and mentally. Doctor gave me a note saying they recommend me not working more than around 40 hours a week. Worried about showing it to the execs. How would you feel if someone on the team used this or had this arrangement? Is it even possible for the note to be honored?
