I seriously do not know anyone (family, close friends, co-workers) that has had COVID. Is this weird or lucky?? Also to clarify for some people...I’m not a COVID denier so relax lol

Weird and lucky. More likely people have gotten it who you know but didn't tell you. Try posting on Facebook "I feel like I don't personally know anyone who has had covid. Just out of curiosity, if you've gotten covid and we're friends please let me know!"

This was my experience—I didn’t think I personally knew anyone and then a close coworker let it slip that he had it over the summer, but he was embarrassed to say anything because he got it while flying for a vacation.

If you don’t know anyone who’s gotten COVID and you’re still NOT a covid denier, I have some snake oil to sell you............. -Mike

Same here. I stopped caring awhile ago and neither myself or friends/family have gotten it. It’s like come and get meee but it won’t get me. Now I feel so confident that I will lick random door handles. Still good though it’s weird.

Yeah I mean I am a COVID denier and no one I know has been even seriously ill from it. I’ve been vindicated going on 9 months now

You most likely do know people but they just aren’t advertising it

I thought I didn’t know anyone for a while...... and then one day, one friend got it, and his brother got it, and his brother’s friends got it, all from the same night!!

Well since just at 13M of the 328M US population have been formally diagnosed, you’re looking at about 4 in 100. If you polled acquaintances on Facebook you’d probably find someone, but depending on your location you might not yet since 25% of those 13M cases are located in three states (NY, CA, TX). Add to that the fact that cases often occur in clusters (see the family of 15 in TX who all caught it together) and it’s not too far fetched to think you may not know anyone with the virus if you run in different circles. Conversely, I’ve had 5 extended family members and a number of family friends come back positive.

like

It’s not that weird when you think about how its impact has been highly concentrated in certain communities. I’m in NYC and the only people I know have had it have been co-workers.

like

There’s also high rate of asympotmatic people. Its quite possible that you know people who didn’t know that they were exposed and didn’t have symptoms (or assume that their symptoms are just signs of the common cold).

like

Wow not one? None of my immediate family members or close friends have had it but I know other family friends, clients, judges, relatives of coworkers, etc. have had it. I probably know at least 10 people.

I know 2. One died, no pre-waiting conditions, rode his bike to work every day. The other was the first diagnosed case in our town (she brought it back with her from London). 8 months later she is still suffering the side effects.

like

Same. I know some people who know OF some people who had it, but don't know anyone personally.

Lost 2 family members. Most of my coworkers and friends know someone who had it.

I’m in New York. I know 10-20 people who had it. 2 people that died

A family friend died from it. It was two weeks from diagnosis to death. He was put in a medically induced coma and his family pulled the plug after organ failure became terminal. It’s a horrible virus if it wants to be.

I know ten people who have had it lol. 4 got pretty bad

I know one person directly who has had it.

Unrelated to law, but need some advice on how to help a friend. One of my best friend’s dad is in the hospital in really bad shape. She’s home with her mom and siblings. I want to send food or do something for them, especially since they just found out they may have been exposed to covid when visiting their dad at the hospital (not by their dad), and they have to quarantine for 2 weeks. If I were closer I’d make food and drop it off, but they’re 200 miles away. Any ideas?

Usually I try to live in the moment, but other times things come to mind from the past that make my life feel like it could be a soap opera. For example, I crushed on a guy from school for a few years, and one night as a young adult, found us both drunk alone in my apartment. A few months later he texted me and said he just got married at the courthouse and that I should be in the wedding party when covid was over. It shouldve happened by now but it hasnt yet…👀🙂

Does anyone maybbbbbe think that this new “spike” in corona virus cases could be possibly caused by these massive riots in every major city? Not saying the riots are bad or wrong, but let’s not kid ourselves and say these aren’t a contributing factor. So when people are surprised at the USAs rising rates, I mean come on...

Anyone else have a personal and/or work space that’s just absolute chaos? I haven’t managed to keep my bedroom/office clean for more than 1 day since COVID (granted it was also messy in the before times). Every surface is covered in laundry / dishes / papers / tech / cosmetics. God forbid my webcam ever shifted from it’s usual position and revealed my quarters to my coworkers (or clients!) Pls tell me I’m not alone in being a fairly well-adjusted adult with the bedroom of a teenager :|

I interviewed for a position remotely 3 weeks ago with the 3 partners of an agency at the same time, and it went well. After 3 weeks, I sent a follow-up note to the HR contact and no response all last week. Shall I try contacting the CFO directly since she did ask that I do? Thoughts?
