I seriously hope none of my peers are participating in these absurd protests. I understand the need to protest when something unfair has happened and there's a tangible outcome but this isn't that.

I think the protesters mean well, but I think they need to more clearly define their mission. If it is to protest the results of the election, that is misguided. However, I do see the value of immigrants/Muslims/LGBT/Latino people, etc to come together and show Trump that they deserve to have their voices heard and factored in his decisions as a President given the rhetoric he used against these very groups during the election.

Chicago and Oakland are out of control, Portland was declared a riot and idiot protestors started fighting amongst themselves, in LA an officer was assaulted... the info is out there you just need to look. The police can't stop it cold because 1) in some cities they are understaffed and 2) if they tried the very same people would whine about police brutality

I don't think you understand what the protests are about. They are making a stand that they will not watch their civil liberties be eroded. They aren't challenging his election.

The popular vote would be different if those were the rules campaigns played by. They would spend all their time campaigning in populous states and the entire Midwest would be forgotten (again). They would pander to just the biggest cities and promise them the moon to get elected
