I think that not all employees should have edit permissions to the documentation. You can probably bring this up with your manager stating your concern. Also, I think you can share your achievements with your manager on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Try to analyze or confirm if it's deliberate.... If it is, you can directly confront him red handed, he will stop doing that... That's the simplest legal way
Another thing you can do is - tell your colleague that - my manager or supervisor was saying that he did not think I have done that work and I was asked to justify the time spent, I have explained him all the things but he didn't seemed satisfied with my answers.... So can you please stop playing this game.
Do something on your end to protect your work. Then confront him if you have concrete proof that he is doing what you said he is doing.
You should restrict his access to your work. Talk to him first. If he repeats the same thing again, talk to your manager. That's not fair and so unprofessional.
The change history is there, so his lack of contribution is documented. But really, who pays attention to the last edit by info anyway?
I certainly don't.
