I start a new job on Monday and I’m riddled with imposter syndrome. I’m moving into an agency for my first time after years of being in-house at a very unsupportive, fast moving start up that was so focused on quick acquisition & fast growth that my skills were often pushed to the side (content, community, social media). Moving into an agency… I’m terrified that I’m not good enough & they’ll find out. Any advice for someone going into an agency for their first time would be appreciated! Xx

Just a friendly reminder that they chose you for a reason😊. As someone who’s worked in several agencies, I can tell you that no one knows everything - that’s part of the agency vibe. You kinda just figure it out as you go. So don’t stress it, and just ask lots of questions, bond with your colleagues and ask for a second opinion on something if you’re really worried, most people are really helpful and will band together. You’ll be fine 👍🏻👍🏻

Aw, hang in there. And try not to be so hard on yourself. I’m the same way, measuring my worth on success. But remember, everyone needs to begin somewhere, and if they dont get that, you can find something else! It’ll all be ok 🤗

So I’m being contacted by GS for an associate role in Dallas. I live in Tampa. Making around $88,500. What is the realistic amount I can ask for? I assume I can try and get $120k to $130k for an associate role within GS. Hear hopping firm to firm is a standard and it usually brings a nice pay hike.

Looking for thoughts and opinions about HR involvement in employee promotions. More specifically passing up an experienced employee for not having a college degree. We have an employee in our office, who applied for a promotion and despite having a degree, would be a perfect fit. Several supervisors recommended this employee for the position but HR denied the promotion for lack of a degree. I have a graduate degree and I still feel that experience is sometimes more valuable. Thoughts?
