Congratulations! First off, I suggest work on changing your mindset that a baby is an inconvenience. This is life. When I told my manager, I let him know I was expecting and when I would be due, and let him know I would have a transition plan ready for review / his feedback by X date. Good luck!
It's natural to be worried, but you really don't even need to acknowledge that it's an inconvenience and you should certainly not apologize. It's simply a matter of fact - your are pregnant, and will be taking maternity leave, and you and the team will work together to determine how to cover things in your absence. It doesn't need to be more than that.... really.

Think through how you would divide your work beforehand and key POC. This way when you tell your manager you can have a plan for how to offload your work and a plan for when you get back.

I agree that you don’t have to acknowledge the inconvenience at all. Congratulations, mama! 💛
I agree, definitely not thinking my baby is an inconvenience to me which why I don't want to sound apologetic but it probably an inconvenience for the team timing wise since I just got hired for the role and will be taking time off soonish

I started a new job around 13 weeks. So, pretty similar timing. I told work around 24 weeks. Do NOT apologize. When you are ready to tell them (maybe not now), say how excited you are and what next steps they suggest? (e.g., talk to HR) They should be supportive and this first conversation need not be about how you feel bad. You can certainly discuss transition time for later. Is the job project-based or in consulting? If short projects, no transition plan is really needed if projects end every few months. They’d plan one(s) for you that coordinate with the start of your leave. DM me if you want any advice!
