Couldnt HODL anymore 😩
I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent
Sounds about right

Yes it’s normal. And if you’re in a compliance role, given this time of year, definitely normal. I would just reach out asking about any tasks to help prepare for upcoming compliance season and about being staffed up following the holidays. Also, try a couple different managers -may one or so a day. Don’t push too hard in case everyone comes back at once with a bunch of stuff
I'm in the exact same boat. :/
Sometimes it takes a few weeks or months for the team to remember you are now a member of the team and therefore available to help with work! In the meantime, I would schedule 30 min coffee dates (can be virtual if you are remote) with various team members to get to know people!
Went through the same when I switched firms. It took some time before people realized that I was in the team and that I was capable of doing the work without adding more work to their plate.
I would be productive in other areas.
Finish up any cpe courses (if any), network (internal & external), make a friend or become close with anyone (admin - they know all, ops, ppl on same level, does your firm do any DEI events, join groups (if any) at the firm, any non billable work, any firm contribution hours work, join any firmwide or group wide initiative
Dont just sit there and do nothing. I can imagine they are watching you or look at your hours. Dont you have a utilization rate goal?
@BDO 2 nope! I don’t!
Right now is a slow time. Enjoy the downtime, lots of CPE coursed offered or study for CPA. Try going to in-person events if your has that to meet some more people
Exactly in the same boat, but all I do is check with my team members everyday to see if there are task I could help them with, but major time they don’t have anything to help with, kinda feel upset because I ain’t productive everyday and still have to put in my time worked at the end of the day.
I’m remote too, the people on my team never try to reach me, communication is extremely lacking , no one says anything except I say hello to ask if we have anything, it’s just my 2nd week and on contract here, I felt I got hired because it’s busy but reverse is the case.
