Our choices in life help build who we become. If you don’t like where you live, move. If that doesn’t work out after a few years, move again. Where one lives doesn’t have to be a one-and-done choice. While hometown is ones comfort zone, I generally espouse that life begins at the end of your comfort zone. Do you want familiar/safe, or do you have a desire to explore and see who you become in a different environment?

I’m a huge boater and surfer so yeah it’s more of a lifestyle vs family thing lol. I’m very close with my family in general though.

What Cio said! What I firmly believe is that every adult, who has the means, live away from home for a few years, in their working life. The size of the city doesn't matter as much as the distance from where you grew up. You should have the option to move back to where you are from but give yourself enough time (2 years?) to fully explore what the place has to offer. Seems like you've done that. No harm in moving back. All the best!

My main concerns are I feel like my chances of meeting someone are lower, but on the flip side it’s not like I’m doing much in the larger city because I’m either busy with work or in my hometown. I can also afford a house in my hometown but not in the larger city. Overall just don’t want to have regrets. Any advice?

Yeah I agree with you. The thing about my situation is I can transfer back to the office in my hometown. Nothing about my job would change other than having to drive farther to my clients. I’m tax though so I don’t go to them more then once or twice a year

So bankers are getting Pelotons or even bonuses (10k for Moelis, 20k for citi analysts /associates) for too many work hours and the burnout feeling. Pretty sure most consultants feel the same way. Anything EY is considering doing to boost the WFH burnout morale. Can uncle Mitch buy us all a peloton to compete with industry standards

Anyone else feel like their life has become super monotonous? My wife and I both WFH indefinitely, and we see friends and stuff on weekends which is nice but Monday through Friday we come downstairs after work, walk the dog, and ask “what do you want to watch?”…watch TV or whatever then go to bed. Is this just life now?

Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?

So, a new associate recently joined our team. We are still WFH. I’ve tried to be friendly with the associate but somehow not getting traction. Any suggestions? I’m the only one that initiates any kind of interaction online too. What’s the norm here? I would expect an associate to reach out more, but they only reach out to tell me to do work, which is fine too, just used to working with more social associates in the past.
