I started working at a real estate office about 2 weeks ago and my boss is demanding I give him access to my personal phone since it's the one I use for work. Is it me or is this an insane request?

Your boss is being unreasonable. You shouldn't have to give him access to your phone. If he needs to keep something work-related in check, he can give you a work phone.

That sounds ridiculous, is your boss a stable person? What kind of request is that

Insane sounds like a bit of an understatement.

Cuckoo boss much?

LOL I swear your boss is not a real person, like huhhh?

Yesterday my boss scheduled a meeting with me for something he needed help with. He was 15min late & took a phone call from his boss during…10min. This has become a habit. At one point I even stoped scheduling our 1:1’s because he misses them so often but he realized a couple months later & told me to start scheduling them again. I told him they aren’t necessary but he insisted. What do I do? It makes me feel less important/unappreciated. I rather not even schedule to meet. Advice?

Do you think it would be better to add a female associate to my practice or a male or do you think it wouldn't matter as long as they're qualified. I know sounds like I'm stepping into a mine field but I'll concede a woman adds different intrinsic attributes to a team- on the other hand, I've already got a wife maybe I should steer clear??

The company has this rule where we have to check customers' IDs if they are buying anything age-restricted (alcohol, etc.) I hate it because customers get super mad at me and one of them told me "if you think I'm too young then you're stupid and don't deserve to have a job." It's not my policy guys, it's the company. I tell people I would get fired if I didn't do this and they never believe me

I am on an engagement that has 2 managers. I enjoy working with 1 manager. He is very understanding and provides feedback/guidance. However, the other belittles me. She is constantly asking “why” and even when I am not sure of the response she keeps pressuring. She provides no actual information for me to learn from. Not sure if I should correct her on how she should speak to me. Or if I should jump ship & ask not to be on this engagement. still new so i am not stuck on this team yet.

Mostly to vent, but wonder if anyone else has had to deal with this…my team consists of a partner, shareholder, 3 associates, myself and a legal assistant. We have a busy docket, 70 active litigation files. For over a year I have been dealing with inexperienced legal assistants, mostly coming from other areas of law. The partner relies heavily on me to clean up the messes, fix the mistakes, etc., and HR is on me for doing too much admin, i.e., non-billable work.
