Yes, that's why I'm procrastinating my MBA
Why don’t you just get EY to pay for it?
Nope- did mine nights and weekends.
If you like what you are doing and your projected career path, I wouldn’t worry about doing it yet. A lot of people that get an MBA full time do it to change careers. It was a nice break for me to figure out what was next.
I’m with you. The opportunity cost is tremendous. Easily $500k (two years of salary ~$300k, $140k in tuition, $60k in Room/Board). Even if it was sponsored, it’s $350k and you end up making a bit more after you come back but you’re shackled to the firm for two years while those that self-funded are looking at $300-$350k after 2-3 years Post MBA
You get paid, you get degree, and you have no debt 🤷🏻♂️
Except you also have to pay the taxes and interest on the benefit. Still around $50-60k in addition to the other costs
D2, the tax portion actually depends on how your employer classifies the benefit and pays for your tuition. Currently sponsored at PwC and don't have to pay taxes on any of it
I also really didn’t want it to take 3 years, I figured I didn’t want to hate my life doing both school and work for that long.
