I teach high school and I am in three classrooms everyday, I want to have charts and posters on the walls but I just can’t afford to buy everything in triplicate. Is it worth decorating or should I just forgo those kinds of things?

I'm assuming that you are in that many classrooms because you share? If so, collaborate maybe with the people you share with. If it's another reason (different facility needs etc, I had that once where I taught in three rooms and only one was used by anyone else) start with the room you spend the most time in.

I also have three rooms and if it's not an active teaching tool teach I don't stress if they aren't all equal. I've slowly decorated each room more over the years as I find or am gifted things.

I’m in 5 different places a day. I decorate nothing. Enough stress moving from place to place , setting up Zoom and live in person learners and teaching 4 different classes a day.

Wow I felt crazy having two rooms while everyone else have one, you all are amazing. This year I had to go visit all of the rooms. The ones I loved were clutter-free and easy to focus. So I say go minimalist. Most posters you can show on a smart board if needed or you can have it minimized in a handout if you need students to look at one day.

Hey fellow "floater!" I used to have three rooms; I'm down to two this year, with one of them holding 5 of my 6 classes (so progress!) I would usually decorate with student work in each room; I'm not a big decorator besides that. I do agree about collaborating with your coworkers on what to hang. One teacher I share with has nice stuff already up, so I didn't have much work on that front this year.

Claim your "homeroom," and hope for a single room next year.

So, I had to be away for two days. On my way back into town, I stopped at my classroom, just to make sure it was still standing. My district is looking for suggestions on ways to modify our special ed program. Ours is making life hard for our general ed classrooms. Does your district have a model you would suggest?

I'm exhausted. Our district has scripted everything we do in a classroom--very little wiggle room to slow down when we need to. Kids feel like they're in prison; teachers are deflated. If it isn't a curriculum that's so tight kids and teachers can't keep up, there's the district progress monitoring tests and debriefs that have taken up to 5 days of instruction time--another reason things are so tight. I'm very happy to be retiring in the spring. My 10 hour school days are done.

While attending Catholic school in the first grade I was really naughty and sneaked in the empty classroom during recess with a friend. We raided the treasure chest full of goodies (candy, stickers, snacks) and stuffed them in our backbacks. When it was time for class, our teacher noticed the missing treasures and made us all sit in silence until one of us cracked. Someone ratted on my friend, I was in the clear, and my friend never told on me. I still feel bad about it. : (

Started at a new firm in September. The firm sent me my pro rated hours requirement for the year. It includes no ramp up period (like, for example, it doesn’t factor in that my first week was full of mandatory systems trainings, etc). I was told there’s no expectation I must hit the goal, but it feels like maybe there’s an unspoken expectation that I do. Any thoughts? I’ll need to bill just over 8 hours a day from now to December 31 to make it. Doable but the bonus is also pro rated.
