Consulting is all about selling, not delivery. If you cannot sell, it does not matter how good you are at delivering.
So...draw your own conclusions.
No, not if you"hate" certain types of personalities.
I don't think anyone likes lengthy and unstructured conversations.
You can absolutely appropriately "sell" yourself and your work, and make appropriate social chitchat, without embracing the long winded say nothing no accountability vortex. You absolutely have to do the former, but don't confuse it with the latter.
I think it's been helpful in my career, as people know that I won't waste their time.
Successful at what? Delivery, yes. Sales, maybe not. So your options are SME route in consulting, which could be fine, or exit to industry, where they primarily care about getting stuff done.
