In a meeting right now where another East Asian is presenting with pretty bad english, pronunciation, and a very heavy accent. I'm having difficulty understanding what he is saying and I can only presume the wheats in this call understand less.

Despite the language barrier, he immigrated and found a protected job. Would you have hired him when information conveyance and clarity is integral to the job? I know my director certainly would not do so.

Any advice on pivoting from film/commercial production to agency (in toronto)? Asking for a friend. They have a 2-3 years of experience but are finding the work really unstable/inconsistent and just generally incompatible with their mental health (overnight shifts, etc). They’re aware agency is really busy/a grind too, but think it would be a better fit. They’re also exceptionally extrovert and would be excellent in any sort of client facing role. I’ve been reading more and more in other financial forums about people refinancing into interest-only mortgages as a means of maximizing cash available for investment. Help me understand the argument for doing this? I’m starting to see it could make a lot of sense for people who 1) have a ton of equity and aren’t worried about the housing market flinching, 2) probably won’t keep their house forever, and 3) already have a high net worth.
