Emergency fund ☝️ and then any job I can get. No shame here - if accounting isn’t hiring, I’ll do any job! Restaurants, stocking shelves, Uber, whatever. But part of my career choice was the stability that comes with accounting.

Also I’ve been pole dancing for years and I’d make a great stripper 🤷♀️
Depends, if you have a few savings might as well go to bali for a while or any other place and work in a bar

Ugh I want a sugar daddy. But my husband would probably be against it
1. I always have a 6month emergency fund. 2. Find a new job in my field 3. If I can’t do that, I’d start my own business 4. Only fans last resort. 😂
It’s happened to me three times. All self inflicted. I survived on savings and In one case unemployment. And then got a job or started a business that made more next time. It’s likely to happen again soon and I’ll do something else. Worst case scenario I’d stay with a family member till I got another job or project. Jobs are plentiful these days. It’s actually liberating to take a few months or a year off once in a while to regain a sense of control. Chances are you don’t have to work. You really don’t. Because you can get by for a while and make money in other ways until you find something else.

I mean I'm a CPA, I'm hoping I can get another job quickly? I can float for a few months but don't want to have to dip into emergency funds 😬

Long as we all gotta pay taxes, I’m gucci. 🤷

Go home to my mommy. Or any one of my aunts/cousins.

I’d go on long term disability before I lost my job

I’m married, and wife works full time. I would probably go get another job in consulting (Hello Deloitte😂). I also have a large emergency fund. But you sound like my wife when her anxiety goes up she takes more clients or does things like want to move furniture or paint rather than deal with issues of anxiety. Have you thought about talking with a therapist?

Losing my job would suck obv but it won't kill me. For anxiety i focus more on mitigation than recovery: 1) how connected am I at work? Do i have good relationships with managers/partners who i can depend on to help fight for me? 2) have i up skilled recently? Do i have certifications or experience in a growing/in demand area? 3) do i have an emergency fund just in case? Assuming yes to the above, i can then tell my anxiety to F off - it's not being rational because I've done everything in my power already. That generally means hot (noncaf!) Tea and or a nap haha
I might have a different definition of shit-hitting the fan than you do, but I can't answer this question publicly

Also should we judge the job market for consultants based on if the confession bowl starts having OF ads?
What if you got cancer or a chronic disease that you can’t find another job?

As someone with a chronic disease, work from home is absolutely amazing
