I would like to know the interview process of Hitachi Vantara. The first round of Solutions Architect interview happened yesterday. Can someone provide an insight about number of interviews and how many days does it take to complete the entire process? This was specific to services business line. Appreciate your response Cheers! Maybe? I've suffered from disorganization and had to build up coping mechanisms for that (e.g. daily self check-ins to evaluate my day and plan intentions for the next day's work). How is your written communication? I think you could lean more on that to be successful. I'd also recommend seeking out a mentor to discuss these perceived shortcomings and how to avoid letting them impact your work.
So it’s a bit of imposter syndrome and a bit of needing to work on skills other than just programming. Being able to communicate clearly is a SUPER important skill for programmers, and one that is often overlooked throughout school.
When I first started at my company, I definitely struggled in meetings (especially standups) because I didn’t have a coherent flow to what I was saying. I tended to talk based on my stream of consciousness, which is bad when you’re trying to be clear and concise! What I did was write down some points I might go through before each meeting so that I had something to rely on for organizing my thoughts. You might try something similar. The best advocate for you is always going to be you; since you clearly know what you’re doing, it’s important that you’re able to also tell that to others and explain what you’ve done.
While soft skills may not seem important in our field, communicating clearly gives you the power to be heard and understood. That’s important both for successful handoffs of products and to make changes and grow at your company!
