I think I am hitting my lowest point during the quarantine now - been four months since I saw my loved ones, living alone and now on a really stressful project 🙁 I don’t know how much longer I can keep myself motivated. Just wanted to vent, thanks for listening!

You can do this! It’s a tough time, but can you set up calls/chats with friends/family, or if they’re nearby and your state allows - visit them? 💕

I am so sorry! Are you currently making it a point to get outside every day and go for a walk or something? I find that disconnecting from my work space (which is also my living space) allows me to feel like I can breathe without the stress. Journaling and setting intentions for the day has helped me as well.

Omg hang in there! I remember in April /May I hit my lowest point. You’re gonna make it thru! You’re gonna be ok and once you make it through this tunnel you’re going to so much stronger and wiser. Keep up the good work. Don’t forget to practice self care and love yourself extra during this time

Literally same spot OP. I have zero advice, I also feel like I’m just falling apart, randomly started crying at 1am last night bc I could get my slide to look right and just everything seems so hard. Live alone and halfway across the country from family, so I basically haven’t seen a human being since early March and am getting a little worried I’m starting to lose my mind... I’m taking a week off and going hiking in August, really hoping that will help me reset a bit.

I know the feeling! I haven’t seen my family since the holidays. Just stay positive and create a schedule. I find that forcing myself to workout every day (m-s) keeps me from going crazy and into depression.

I have been applying to jobs nonstop and honestly feel so disheartened. I have my MBA with a healthcare management concentration and I even had my resume professionally done. I have almost 4 years total healthcare experience with the last almost 2-2 1/2 years in management. I am ready for a change and looking for a remote job, preferably in healthcare/project/program management. I am even open to entry level healthcare IT. Would appreciate any help!

Question with regards to treatment of Crypto loss: client purchased large amount of alt coins during 2021 and was intended to sell them shortly after the purchase. However his access to sell was restricted and he was not able to sell after continued attempts until 8 days later, the sell transactions went through- during this time the values dropped dramatically and he sustained $100K loss. Practically we’ll report this as ST capital loss, but I’m curious whether it could be viewed as damage?

Feeling super discouraged. I’m pretty average IQ wise, but I’ve always been able to get ahead by working harder/longer than others. (e.g. I raised my ACT score for 29 to 35 by taking 30+ practice tests, and got into MBB on my second try by doing 50+ mock interviews.) But now that I’m at MBB I feel like working hard isn’t enough. I feel like to succeed here you have to be lightning fast at picking stuff up and executing tasks, and that’s just not me.

Hot take: leave consulting asap! Mgmt/strategy consulting is not doing well as a whole and wont be for while. Not only are people losing compensation and jobs, theyre losing the experiences that are really applicable to industry. In my exp, most consultants are now working on now projects related to coronavirus relief (PPP loans, cost takeout, bringing employees back to office, etc.). I’m an avid linkedin user and I’ve noticed 50% of my practice now has premium. Must be saying something.
