Very close to receiving a job offer for a fast growin start-up company related to dental. It is located in SF which unfortunately is not Americas most expensive city to live in (I’d have to move there). Started pricing apartments and will need an offer of about $135k to qualify for housing but anything I find for a salary reference says the company plays about 95k in SF - how do I justify my experience and drive to the company to show my value or is that too big of a wage gap to bridge? I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.

I work at a 40 person company and about 35 went to the same very highly regarded school. 5 of us (including me) went to an easier school but 2nd in the state. The majority likes to make fun of us, like a 45 year old dude still making college hate jokes.

I left my previous employer (of 15 yrs) because of the good o’boys club (you can join if you cheat on your wife, have zero accountability, a huge ego and nose up a VP’s ass). Some of the best competent people have left recently as a result. Now they’re constantly posting propaganda on LI pretending it’s a “fun & cool” place to work. It makes me want to throw up in my mouth. I was I could tell all the naive young millennials to run, as fast as they can or else they better watch their backs…
