BT1 gives good advice if you wanna burn all bridges and never get a job in your industry again. Word gets around of those kinds of people.

With that said, Were you on a pip or similar? If not, maybe it’s just a nice random meeting :) if so... I’m sorry and good luck!

I got fired from an audit job. The second I walked out of the building I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. I didn't realize how much I hated it until that moment. That during led to me trying tax. Then I just recently left a firm in an awkward (but on my terms) way in order to start my own firm. Every day I'm more and more sure it's what I want. Here's to good things for you and me!

cause as much damage as you can before you leave. Email the files to yourself and than spend all day deleting them. If you don’t get fired - replace all the files

Hey all. I just got hired as a Sales manager in a remote setting. As soon as I was done with training, the leadership team cut the entire BD side. They offered me 2 weeks of severance or an individual contributor role. Curious to know if anyone has connections to an open management/enablement role? I've built sales teams from scratch, 10 years of sales exp, and familiar with a lot of tech. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What's the best course of action when you find yourself at a job that's far more chaotic than you assessed while interviewing? Upon starting this job a couple of weeks ago, I discovered between the time I interviewed and my start date they had hired a new CEO, laid off all of their off-shore teams, changed my position to a new hiring manager, and added an on-call rotation to all engineering teams. None of this showed up in my research of the company or my interviews.

Anyone else notice a trend with the mass amounts of layoffs in tech? Why are all their resumes so jumpy? Not like 2-5 years jumpy, like few months at a time jumpy? But still can land a position with similar tech giants? IMO, lots of these people get hired by their rich friends, stay a few months before someone realized they aren’t qualified and were just a recommendation from a current employee. Then repeat that process over and over until your company is down 50%

What happens when you get laid off? Do you get to stay until the end of the day? Do you say goodbye to people or try to leave without anyone noticing?

Are there any pros to staying at a company and getting laid off, vs. proactively looking for a new job and quitting before it happens? I.e., financial (possibility of receiving severance or any other benefits). Or is being laid off just all bad? I don’t know if my job is at risk — I don’t believe it is — but my agency lost some clients and is talking about cost cutting to be safe and get ahead of it. Fwiw, I’m ready for a change anyway.
