You won’t make 100k a year raising goats...
Goals milk is apparently worth a lot more than cows milk if you process it right. Ie make cheese Or something
I did some Monday morning research for you. Average price of a goat is 400 dollars. So not sure what you do with them, but if you sold goats then you need to sell 250 goats a year to have 100k in revenue lol.
BAH 1 I feel like craigslist could of worked lol.

I too would be ok taking on fewer responsibilities for the same salary

G1 Tbf, most of what I’ve read/heard does indicate that goats are pretty low maintenance

Omg let this guy dream! Stop being so serious all the time!!!
An off grid cabin on 10+ acres in Texas with enough goats to qualify as agricultural property (property taxes go way down) while continuing to work in consulting might be a way to pile up cash and retire to gentleman farmer status in a few years.
EY2, so marry into a tractor family. Good advice!

Pick 2...
Came here to say this 😂
For those actually considering this, please take some time and volunteer at a small farm and see how freaking hard that is first.

Maybe goats are just part of the story. You make some money from interest/dividends and some from goat. A modern farmer.
Def. Passive income stream for the money and the goats are just a bonus.

There is a local goat farmer near my house. I think he is independently wealthy, because his home is gorgeous.
That being said, he makes money off of the goats by renting them out to clear land. If you have a hillside with weeds, a few weeks of goats will clear those weeds very effectively and organically (no chemicals).
I don’t think the goats provide him enough income to live, but it is an interesting revenue stream.
Yeah, lots of people do it that way. Let the goat farmer know that donkeys are a better protection for goats than dogs. Dogs will fight coyotes and sometimes lose while donkeys hate coyotes and they kill them often. Donkeys hate canines in general, so avoid letting the dogs in there or you might lose them too.

Same, maybe a kitchen garden for veggies too!

I rather just raise dogs as a living.

Raising goats can be lucrative, especially if you have contacts to sell them in South Florida (goat meat is quite popular with immigrants from Caribbean area.
What helps the profitability is that young goat meat is much preferred over adult meat, so there is little cost to raise them compared to cattle or pigs

Looked into it and apparently it's very feasible to clear 100k as an RMT in my city, plus the whole flexible schedule thing. Strongly considering it.
You’d want to diversify your goats — some for meat, some to be as pets (Pygmy). I’d also focus on selling relationships in Greek communities - find a zip code with a lot of Greek churches; Greek delicacies often include goat. I grew up on farms and took care of lots of farm animals, including goats. You’d have to factor in how often female goats are in heat and the fact that it can take up to a year for a goat to mature. You’d also need interior housing if in an area with cold winter conditions — that requires heat, electricity, and maintenance.
