What’s the biggest salary bump/raise you’ve had that didn’t involve a title change? Does such a thing even exist? 🙏🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼
Facing a career decision: do I take the pay raise, or the position that I'm more interested in?
A consideration in any early promotion should be anonymous feedback from those directly under that person. How any firm thinks a person should move up early without considering if the people they lead think positively of them is odd
Weird combination of de-facto self-promotion under poor guise of advertising Becker’s products PLUS humble-brag of winning the EWS award. Gotta love it!
Raise your hand if you’d like to quit your PA gig now and do something different with your career.
The belief that you should be able to move from HCOL to LCOL and not have to take a pay cut is ultimate in socioeconomic and geographic privilege and outright entitlement. Nobody is going to give LCOL a raise to move to HCOL. The work you do is the same, you produce the same value, bill the same rate as peers in another geography. Take a pay cut or give LCOL a significant raise.
I'm currently a second year analyst heading for promotion at a T2 firm. I'm also interviewing with MBB in the coming weeks. My goal is to apply for MBA programs in a year or two from now. What would be the best work experience for my applications? Would it make more sense to stick with my firm and start taking on more responsibility as a consultant / associate? Or would it make more sense to start from square 1 at a better brand (MBB)

Manager 1. Transfer from audit into FDD (and have to do one more busy season in audit), or leave to a financial reporting job at a large public co for 40% raise?
I feel jerked around by my team, as they keep telling me I will be promoted/have more responsibility, every few months. When I follow up, I am usually told, “but you have more responsibility now; no need to make it official”. Not sure what to believe any longer. They said they have put forward a case for my promotion now. I want to believe them this time but feel like a fool when I think back to some of the earlier conversations. Should I bring those conversations up, or just smile and saythanks
Really nervous that going on necessary short term disability for a few weeks is going to hurt my promotion schedule. Is that nuts or will it be viewed negatively by management?
Leaving Deloitte for a better consulting firm & a 50%+ raise. Thank you to D, if they didn’t pay me raises 1/10th the size of competitors, I would’ve never applied!
Replying All to an obvious mistake email should automatically make you ineligible for promotion.
Currently on parental leave. As a father I’m so dang thankful my firm has it and I can’t imagine how my immigrant parents manage to raise two kids without leave.
Negotiating tips at year-end review for getting an above-average raise? Or do numbers speak for themselves?
Didn't get promoted and the more I think about it, the more upset I become. Had a good year, helped fill in gaps, took on roles to help lead internal initiatives, led/managed teams to success, and worked looonnnggg hours to the point of burnout. Leaders also know how much I was working. I didn't expect a promotion because I had low expectations for my firm, but I'm still pretty bitter. Should I ask why? Was I too naive and ended up giving too much? Or is this a reflection of my work/value?
Can anyone provide a quick overview of MTS Health Partners (salary, work life balance, promotion timelines)
Who still goes to firm happy hours? Raise your hand because I do NOT want to go today and could use convincing otherwise
I've developed an unusual amount of distain for the rapping girl in the Virgin America safety video...
Hello everyone, my organisation is hiring for the position of Assistant Manager for Digital Marketing domain. Required experience is 6-7 years minimum. Full time WFH being offered with minimal office visits when necessary. Anyone interested, please DM
What is the federal parental leave policy? I’m new to government and having a baby soon. I know we’re given 12 weeks and have to sign an agreement to work 12 weeks after we return but are there other stipulations to a claw back period or how long we had to be at the agency first?
Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?
ACD salary in Colorado?
Anyone done Zillow final round interviews for non-tech role? If so, how was it and why 3 hours for this interview? 🤦🏾♂️
Anyone know the TC of mba entry level of Big Tech PM roles (e.g. Amazon) and how comp progresses? Internet suggests high 100s which seem kind of low. Need this to model out the roi of an mba thanks a lot!
Air vent above me keeps condensing and dripping water. This is gonna be a fresh 2h flight. ✈️😒 Happy consultant Friday, y'all.
Anyone have experiencing switching firms within Big 4, where you had a good situation and left a really strong network behind? Do you have regrets?
Passed my CISA exam! 🤪
So.. my husband and I live across the country from my family, including my young nieces. We haven’t seen them since before COVID and are not seeing anyone inside who is not vaccinated in our life, and this has not been a problem. We made a plan to vacation with my family to see them again this summer. My BIL is refusing to get vaccinated. Everyone else is vaccinated. My parents and sister aren’t happy about it but feel there is nothing they can do.
Does staying at a job too long make you less marketable? A CFO who worked at a company for over a decade and was fired because of cut backs was hired for temp work. An accounting manager of 6 years was hired for tech support. How does this happen?
Strategy and creative: What is strategy’s role during pre-pro and shooting? Anything? How have you found it’s helpful for us to support?
Anyone from or live in San Diego? Great beer selections everywhere but where do you buy bourbon?!
BCG fish I need advice. Currently interviewing for a Consultant level role, they mentioned it was generalist track and it’s located in the south region. If I have experience and an affinity to work within healthcare would I be able to network and get staffed on healthcare engagements regardless of region? Don’t want to get stuck in energy work or another industry if that’s what ends up happening. Boston Consulting Group
Should I: 1) Roll my Roth 401k contributions from my old employer to my new one who also allows Roth contributions or 2) Roll it into my Roth IRA??
Benefits assistance, please! Context: 25F, unmarried, no dependents & no parents 1) Firm provides AD&D of $20k at no cost. Can purchase voluntary AD&D up to $500,000 for $3.50/pp. 2) Group LTD 60% replacement of first $150,000 of earnings for $4.57/pp. Inexpensive I know, but is this worth it for me? Or are these future considerations?
