Yeah American salaries are much higher for a number of reasons, so makes it difficult to benchmark against
You have a maximum amount of sick days in the US too - after which you better hope you’re fully recovered, whereas here you just need a doctors note and that gives you up to 6 months without insurance.
Finally also your general rights are better as you aren’t ‘employed at will’ if you’re in the U.K., ie to fire you they need cause, such as misconduct, provable redundancy of your role or consistent poor performance that they’ve tried to work with you on.
