Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.
Any layoffs in big4?
Laid off by ZS, today

I’ve been fired twice this year. You get over it. But the PTSD is real.
Facts, I got fired once in 2019 from my first ever junior role, then a second time in 2020 due to COVID cuts, I had insane PTSD from it, my current role is great but I was freaking out that I wouldn’t make it to probation here, but I did. I remember 3 weeks in I was called for a meeting, but the last time I had a ‘meeting’ I was fired. Thankfully it was a legitimate meeting
Eventually you’ll be ok, I got fired once in 2019 from my first ever role, which crippled my resume experience since most others I knew had some experience, and now I didn’t. I got fired from another job in 2020 due to COVID cuts, while everyone had WFH in 2020 & actually made more money than what the government was handing out, I worked 30 hours at my supermarket role just to get paid less than government stimulus. I got a new offer in late 2020/early 2021 and been here ever since, the role pays better & has far better conditions than the other 2 jobs. 3rd time was the charm for me, perhaps it’ll be the same for you

Yeah termination isn't even a sure thing in my position. By my estimates if my efforts to improve my performance don't work I have about three or four months I've already been applying for jobs and got some interviews so one of the two is going to work
Do you know why you’re getting fired? Is it because of your firms performance, your performance, or do you think it might be discrimination etc?
Jobs come and go. Most times people lose jobs it’s because of personal reasons, personality differences, political stuff.
Keep your mind right. Focus on doing your best. If you lose the job you will find another one.
Ignore the bs - good stuff happens.
Be positive
This is good advice.
For one thing I’d use the right language because words will impact how you feel. Being laid off ≠ being fired.
Regardless I agree about the PTSD. I’d take advantage of any therapy or employee counseling they offer because me it could feel good to vent a bit.
What’s the constant between both firings? Figure it out before it happens
Fired or layed off? Fired to me is a termination with cause. If its the 2nd termination with cause in a year then yeah there might be some soul searching to do.
