I thought I had outgrown my depression and anxiety until something happened this Sunday. I’m trying to justify that things “happened for a reason” to make me wake up to how I wasn’t living life fully and that it’s good that it happened so that I would start working on myself again and get the help I needed and avoided for a long time.

Just remember that it's not something childish that you grow out of. Part of the whole cycle is accepting that it's part of you and changing your life to accommodate your needs (instead of believing that you have to change who you are to fit the life "most" people live)

Recently started feeling super tight chest, shortness of breath due to anxiety. Not sure what to do with it… I try to breathe slower but it takes a long time to go away. Very frequent this week - never had this before. Not doing therapy but probably should restart. I am thinking it might also be time to try some medication. Maybe it will help finally relieve all the symptoms. I also pick my thumbs and have been all my life. I’ve tried yoga, meditation and other things and stopped. Any thoughts?

I’m so frustrated. Good looking guy, in his prime , cannot find a woman . I have depression. The women i want , don’t want me. And vice versa. I’m such a terrible mess

I was depressed a couple of months ago. Cried hours at a time, didn’t want to get up, couldn’t sleep at night due to extreme anxiety. Didn’t think it’d be possible to feel “normal” again. I do now. Had a strong support system, made small lifestyle/mentality changes, started medication, and overtime, little by little started getting better with ups and downs. Saw my psychiatrist today and I’m reducing my dosage now. Hoping this message provides hope to others who are struggling 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I had a one on one work meeting with a partner and I noticed hyperventilation was coming. And I was having trouble breathing. I did talk through what I needed to quickly but then again I said out loud I can't breathe, twice. Partner didn't say anything about it after a brief silence. And proceeded with the meeting. I did get better towards the end of the meeting but..
I don't know what response I was expecting. I just wanted to share this experience where I feel safe to do so here.

I just found out that someone I am close to might be dying of cancer and I am the goddaughter for her daughter. She has an 11 yr old and a 5 yr old. Feel so sad and overwhelmed

It’s so hard to build confidence when I constantly feel fear: fear of doing something wrong, fear of job security, fear of how others perceive me. It’s become discouraging and hurts my motivation-I feel like I only have the energy to do the bare minimum. Does anyone else feel this way? Any techniques/mindsets you’ve used that helped?
