I took a JR Pm role due to lack of agency experience but I find that the other PMs aren’t doing anything that I’m not & due to lack of leadership, resourcing & foresight I have had to step up and own rooms with no mentorship/guidance. I feel like I was duped and brought in on a jr role w/regular PM asks &no aupport. I was approached by another agency for an associate Pm position. Reaching out for any advice on questions to ask to truly assess resourcing, support and autonomy at a new place. Thx!
Bummer to hear about your current role, but best of luck in pursuing what you deserve (whether it’s promotion/salary increase or a new gig entirely)!
Some suggestions:
1) What are key characteristics that a person would need in order to thrive in this role?
2) How do PMs work with you/what would someone in this new role do to best support you and your work? (Helpful if you’re interviewing with people in other departments/roles to investigate dynamics)
3) what has this organization done to support the project management team during this time? (While it’s covid-specific, it brings to light whether you’ll be given the tools and resources you need)
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊
