I turned 23 last week and my net worth just crossed 30K. I have been out of school and in my current role for almost a year now, and I don’t see myself enjoying or staying in this field much longer. I am eyeing a switch to another industry which will cut my salary slightly but open up more opportunities down the road. With that in mind, I have been trying to find more streams of income, but I’m having trouble finding some that I can get into with little capital. Any ideas?

I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.

Does anyone pursuing FIRE actually like their current job? Trying to get a grasp of how much of the FIRE movement is driven by escapism from unfulfilling work.

I’d love some help thinking through this. I’m currently renting for $1600 base ($1800 total) and live in the least desirable part of town, and expect it to raise to about $2k/month. I was planning to buy my first property in the city and Airbnb part of it, but it will take me about a year to save up the cash (~$500k starting). Eventual goal is to move more rural but trying to build to FI. I found a property in my ideal dream location for $280k but it needs work, and can’t Airbnb it. Continued

Will hit 7-figure income for the first time in my life this year. Have about $2M in savings. Almost 40. Worked a lower income job before B-school, then paid down loans and saved aggressively to build up a couple in million in 6-7 years since.
