FAAS basically does anything remotely accounting related that the client needs help/willing to pay for. It’s really a pain to try and type out all the things we do. I transferred to FAAS from PWC 3 years ago. If you really want specifics, dm me and I would be willing to answer any questions on a call.

That’s the thing with FAAS vs audit. There’s never a standard process like “walkthroughs, planning, quarters, year-end, repeat”. The odds are one project, say a SPAC will not relate to a process improvement project, just like how those two won’t relate to a divestiture project. Day to day is very flexible in terms of working on deliverables and client communication depending on role

Cmaas is fairly variable so you’re not going to get a standard answer. Could be reading & providing comments contracts, researching guidance, finding example disclosures, client calls, making PowerPoints, presentations, memos, excel models etc. it will also depend on the type of project you’re on

Creating a set of financial statements for a client that doesn’t know how.

Pls HMU and provide some more details over a call I would really really appreciate it

My day (PI project) - Morning ‘scrum’ call (i.e. daily 15 min team touchpoint) - Call with my manager to discuss and get guidance on my work assignments - Work on my assigned areas - which can include documenting various project decisions, analyzing / cleaning up data using excel, drawing process flows… etc - May have client calls related to the work streams

Adding onto this, how are the hours?

I had a 1st round interview last week and I didn’t love the sound of the job. It’s in higher ed. It would also be a 20k pay cut (105 -> 85). They want to do a final round with me this week. During the interview, the director who would be my manager said they are understaffed and very busy. She also said someone in this role needs to love working. I don’t necessarily want to transition to another busy place for a pay cut. The only perk I see is the time off university staff get and tuition...comt

I’m working on a project to help consultants find exit opps. Having recently exited consulting, I know how hard it can be to find time to sift through job listings. How does it work? 1) Set your min. salary (+ other requirements) 2) We send you relevant offers above this salary 3) Stay anonymous until you interview Best of all, it’s 100% free :) Any feedback is welcome! (If you’re interested comment below too and I’ll reach out 🥳)

For those that have left the Big 4 as a Senior Manager (Tax) and went in-house, do you regret it? Anything you wish you knew or you would share with someone that’s in a similar position? I love the work but the volume/lack of work-life balance is not something I’m okay with right now. I recently had a kid and want to spend time on weekend and nights without feeling guilty or a pay cut.

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
