Insurance ends at the end of the month you leave. They give you an option to purchase COBRA. Health insurance is no longer mandatory on the federal level, but it is depending on your state

like

D1 yes, but you can opt in retroactively

Not necessarily true that the insurance ends at the end of the month you leave. My former employer ended the insurance on my last day of employment, which was super annoying, as the insurance from new employment didn’t kick in until the following month after my start date. You’d have to also pay for the employer portion when opting Cobra, good thing is that you can retroactively apply it.

So my wife basically said she doesn’t want to have sex anymore. Don’t want to do anything about it. After couple kids, doesn’t feel it anymore. Also said it wasn’t anything I did and there’s no one else. I understand women’s body changes after child birth but can’t help thinking it’s gonna suck being in a sexless marriage. We’re still attractive and haven’t turned into couch potatoes…yet Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a diagnosed mental health condition that I’m very hesitant about disclosing because I’m concerned about blow back. It means that there are days when I struggle to get out of bed (I still manage somehow). Office socials are a nightmare that trigger PTSD, hence I make some excuse and avoid. Today someone senior in the firm made a comment which made it obvious that none of this is going unnoticed. I feel really low and don’t know what’s the best way forward. Help!

Are there any Partner firms that will not be requiring vaccination for employment? Family has history of genetic heart disease issues and several family members are experiencing adverse health complications following vaccination. Deloitte implemented mandatory vaccination requirement for return to office with no health exemption mention. Not here to debate the merits of the vaccine, solely interested in whether this is expected to be a de-facto Partner firm requirement across the board soon.

Thoughts on joining a boutique consulting firm during this economy? Is it typically viewed as safer or riskier than bigger firms? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I know many of the bigger firms had layoffs but I imagine they have much more in the pipeline/budget/resources whereas boutique firms may or may not have had layoffs (is there a reputable source about this online?) but have fewer of the other items.

I work at a boutique (currently ~14 bankers and 10 back office roles). Joined in august. Since august, 3 senior bankers (MD / VP) 1 HR director, and now 2 analysts have left for great opportunities. To be honest I’m happy and like my role, plus it’s too early to think about switching firms already. I am now the only analyst left, we have another one joining in January. Any advice on how I can leverage this for comp discussions at the end of the year?
