I used to hate that the Coronavirus Work/Life bowl was a shared bowl with consultants and advertising folks, but now I’ve decided I love watching these two worlds collide.

*realizes this post IS in the shared bowl.*

Ahem, I mean we have so much to learn from each other, right?

How dare you forget the lawyers? 😂

likefunny

Well at least you have a sense of humor

funny

Less echo-chamber-y. Also we can now do the “Which Harry Potter house/Game of Thrones family” thing with industries vs. consulting companies

like

Yes, exactly.

More than that - I think law and investment banking are in here as well.

People in IB or law are “associates” and “analysts” mostly so you can’t identify one of them immediately. And in the Law bowl NO ONE uses their firm name as a title.

It makes me wonder what EY peeps did pre-Coronavirus bowl.

funny

Nothing. We are bots created to populate this bowl.

We are expecting a second child in about 15 days and my first one is 2.5 yrs old. My wife took a break after our first child and we never had a nanny. Our entire family lives outside of US. With the current situation, none of our extended family members are now able to travel and help. we are worried about hiring a nanny at this point because of covid concerns. What are my childcare options so that I can be with my wife during the labor?

Rant: I finally got a baby registry started and sent the link to family... and immediately was told all the things I need on there that I don't have (including things I'm opting to just NOT GET, like an electric pump - why is my nursing preference up for debate????). Still looking for work 2 1/2 years later. I was laid off when Covid hit as a Director of food and beverage in West Hollywood /Beverly Hills, relocated to Omaha Nebraska with the same organization to open a property. Laid off after the opening. I’ve been doing Task Force work since. Looking at vice president or Director roles hotels/restaurant companies! I have applied everywhere, nothing but ghosting treated disrespectfully, offered horrible salaries or told positions on hold. Need a Job

The only part which is similar is that I’m the main point of contacts for pt so I can report their complaint to Health Canada. How can I convince them I can handle this new job

How to deal with an overly paranoid family member? I've been working from my parents place for the past month and my brother recently came home for the holidays. Out of all of us, my brother is the most cautious, but to the point where he is paranoid. Like, he will wear 2 masks, doesn't see anyone, uses hand sanitizer after touching anything (like his shoelace), and doesn't use grocery store baskets (holds everything). I respect his habits and I've been pretty cautious (cont. in comments)

Hot take, for those who received a stimulus based on FY19 or FY18 returns why doesn’t the government make people pay it back in the FY20 return if they don’t qualify based on the actual tax year stimulus was for? I understand why they couldn’t wait but IrS knows who received it so it isn’t hard to implement. Could have used the anticipated saving coming back to fund more stimulus for those who truly needed it.
