I used to like working in a clothing store. Now I can't go shopping without feeling like I have to straighten all the hangers, ugh

I feel this completely. I can't resist shooting dirty looks at people who unfold clothes and then leave them in a pile.

Same! I just try to be more mindful of workers now since I know exactly what they go through.

This all the way. Once you experience the other side of it, it's hard to forget the struggles of working retail lol

Well, I wouldn't mind if more customers helped us out like that but perhaps it's a bit much to ask haha

Yes, this is SO me. My kids hate shopping with me because I always make them put everything back. One time my daughter tried telling me "people get paid to straighten them out" so I made her pick up like 20 shirts off the floor and hang them up PROPERLY. She never complained about it again. But she likes shopping with her Dad more than me and I think this is one of the reasons

Trust me, no matter where you work, you will find the same phenomenon. Some people seem incapable of forming a coherent thought let alone realizing that they are impacting the people around them through their actions or lack thereof. Just roll your eyes and move on...

Ugh, it's like that where I work too. People end up damaging cards because they try to shove them into a space they won't fit, so the cardstock gets all bent. They'll do this right in front of me too, just say "I don't know where this goes" and try to cram it into the nearest spot they can find. I asked my boss if we could just set out a table or shelf where people can put cards they decided they don't want, but she said no because it would be "an eyesore." Unlike a bunch of crinkled up cards, I guess?

Waiting on raise/bonus info but can’t help but wonder if I could be making $100k more at a larger firm and working similar hours. I put a premium on the people I work with and have gotten a good rhythm here as well as built up a good rep so far. For reference I have billed avg. 180-200 hrs a month. Any insights?

How much does a Manager makes in the Janitorial Service field

I’m not sure I fully understand Amazons pay structure. I’m applying for a Sr. Customer Success manager role but the base is low. The sign on bonus may help and the go forward RSU’s…but it seems so unstable. What are the pros and cons of working with Amazon?

My biggest mistake was accepting a promotion to manager, it made me realize that I'm not very good at managing people. Should I ask if I can go back to my old role?

Thinking of switching employers. Do you think bigger retail stores (the ones that have several locations) are easier or harder to work at than little hole-in-the-wall grocery stores (which is all I've ever done)? It seems like the larger chain stores would have more downtime, but I'm wondering if anyone could give some input.
