I’m in second trimester. I just came from my grandfather’s funeral, outside. My aunt was around her 2 siblings last week that had Covid and she hasn’t been vaxed. She hugged me and mom (4 weeks from her last chemo session) and only told us about her siblings after. I’m so mad. Can someone smarter than me explain the mechanics of the child tax credit in the America Rescue Plan? If I qualify for monthly installments of the credit but fill out my W4 so my withholding is as close as possible to my tax liability, shouldn’t the credit installments effectively be offset by an increase in fed withholding so that my take home pay is the same as if I claimed the credit on an annual return? I know there is an increase in the credit, but I’m focusing on logistics.

After googling, it appears to me that billable hour only matters to me if my salary is paid by hours.
