I voted for Biden but if my kids aren't back in school soon, I am voting straight ticket Republican. Tired of seeing my kids fall behind on there education and sad that the Democratic party is enabling this because unions have bought them off.
In my district, even vaccinated teachers aren't coming back even though it is proven transmission rates are incredibly low among children.

Let’s not get all high and mighty about how much you care about your kids education if the government offering 8 hours of someone watching your kid play video games would solve your problem.

You're going to need to explain how the federal government would force schools back open....

like

This is what I’m hearing, “Unless President Biden sends in the national guard and military to literally rip teachers and kids out of their homes and send them to school 8 hours a day, mind you they would also stand guard at the schools to make sure none of them escape, im voting republican!”

Is that about the gist of it?

Unless you voted for him for your local school board, this isn't Biden's deal.

Biden has said repeatedly that he wants schools open, and the CDC has issued guidelines on how to do that safely.

What specific actions can Biden take to open your school?

likesmart

Single issue voting is often an excuse. Truth also on this one is a little more nuanced. Also, caring about kids Ed and Betsy DeVos seem to be in oppo.

like

What exactly does Biden have to do here other than issuing guidance for returning safely via the CDC and giving schools $$$ via covid relief and getting vaccines out as fast as possible? Interestingly enough kids are back in person in big cities like DC and Chicago...you should be calling your local school board 🤷🏼‍♀️

Maybe you should go back to school and learn how things actually work.

At least learn the difference between there and their. Education starts at home.

So you want an exceptionally expansive view on federal powers regarding education decisions made on state and local levels and to get that you’re going to vote for the party that wants to get rid of the DoE?

like

My vote on schools has nothing to do with Biden. My state (MD) has the worst back to school % and is run by a Republican. Think and vote more critically.

Why are your kids falling behind? Are you offering in home support? Are you pushing them to do better? Are you providing them with an atmosphere to succeed in your home?
Many people are doing better in virtual school, so would be interested to know what the problem is.

Unions have bought off Ds is a silly take. It’s more some states are struggling still, the vaccine readiness was botched last fall, and teachers are coordinated where it’s not safe - they can force behavior.

I know several teachers in my fam have been back in-building for months.

Now I’m questioning if we’re being unreasonable… how have you guys been handling unvaccinated people meeting your newborns??
