What's your background in? Some nonprofits in dc are going to offer remote work but aren't publicly announcing it.
DC MD VA is exactly where I want to be if I do have to go into an office sometimes. My background is in social justice, litigation, and real estate. Right now I’m in-house counsel to a city
Start with the website foundationcenter.org. Also, use charity navigator to identify companies you may be interested in.
Fed government attorney here, I don’t think we will stay completely remote but we’ll probably have a lot more telework flexibility (especially under a Democrat administration). Under the current administration, telework was heavily cut across the board (pre-COVID).
Rising Star
Agree with this. I don’t think any federal agencies are likely to go completely remote but flexible work will increase.
Psjd.org has a remote jobs filter. Also, I bet you could individually negotiate to be remote at some places
A lot of nonprofits are looking at more WFH options to save on office leasing costs. I work for one that will probably end up with some in office, some all at home and some hybrid, with the bulk hybrid because of the direct services we provide. Apply for the jobs you want and then ask at interviews about their plans for wfh. The ones that don’t own their buildings are going to be better bets for you, as are those where you do more impact litigation or other work that doesn’t require lots of individual client work where clients are in and out of the office a lot.
