I want to apply to an open position outside my current company. Position is: Project Manager I. My current pay would increase 15-30k if I would land the job. However I have only been in my current position as a program coordinator for 6-7 months. Would it be a bad move to apply to another job and possibly switch? Note: I have an MBA, Associate in Project Management Certification and 5 years of professional work experience. I feel I am underpaid at 67k for my current credentials.

If you have no intentions of going back to your current company or feel your already in a low paying stagnet position. Then I say apply, interview and check the other place out. It doesn't hurt to gain interview practice and if the job isn't what you thought it was, then you still have your current job even if it isn't ideal. Good luck 👍

My friend got me an interview for a lower level position. The pay is decent and the work is interesting. How should I defend my position when the interviewer thinks I am over qualified, which to me could mean not hands on, unstable, too old, etc. Is it ok to suggest one reason I am applying is that I am looking for growth down the road? Comments?

I think I bombed a case interview with Chartis for an associate consultant position. The case was in excel and required me to manipulate the data via share screen with the interviewer. I couldn’t get some functions to work and was struggling to go through the 16 page PDF of data. I had several answers correct but needed to walk through the remaining questions with some guidance. My other 3 case interviews went well and I had great conversation with the partner for behavioral interview. Thoughts?
