I want to buy my first house/investment property and with that being said I would like to house hack it and be somewhere in CA so that I can still be around friends and family. Don’t think I can do OOS as for my first property I want to be able to manage it and be hands on. Does anyone have any advice for me?

It’s pretty hard to lose money house hacking. It depends on your goals whether you want a nice place (optimizing your own lifestyle) or more of a strict investment prop

We call it house hacking. The rest of the world call it getting a roommate.

Do it but just manage the relationships well.

Hi all, looking to buy a fourplex in Austin TX. Off market they will accept $625k “as is”. My only financing option is fha it seems since I don’t have 15% down. Current rents are $4300. It’s in south Austin part of 78704 but a really bad street. My thoughts are it’ll gentrify and I’ll condo regime it. Any major concerns, am I buying at the peak? Are there other financing options I should entertain? First house so a bit nervous. Thank you!
